The Porello family is celebrating 100 years in the construction business, with a featured story in La Voce in November. It all began with Eduardo Portello, my grandfather, who came to the USA from Calibria in 1905. He worked in construction and after two years decided to go in his own business in West Paterson, NJ. He became very successful His son James Portello, my father, followed his footsteps and after many years I also followed the construction path. Now my two sons Edward Jr. and james continue to bring business to the next level. My wife Bina also helps me in many facets of the company. Portello Construction Co. has bulit many custom and track homes in NJ and in Las Vegas. In 1978 we added one more company Portello Pools. Both companies have unlimited licenses. I also have two daughters, Bonnie and Robyn, two daughters in law Katie and Andrea, twelve grandchildren and Bina's two sons who are my step sons, Jonathan and Gabriel.

The Portello family has a great reputation for construction and pool building. I and my family are very proud of our heritage of being Italian Americans.
